As the CEO and president of Indigo Blue Construction, LLC, a premier Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB), Kimela J. Overstreet oversees all company affairs and operations. She also plays a crucial role in creating and implementing company and division growth plans.
Before establishing Indigo Blue, Kimela held several leadership positions. She has expansive knowledge and experience in project management, strategic planning and analysis, estimating and forecasting, resource allocation, and solution implementation to support business objectives.
Kimela, a retired US Army veteran, graduated from Drexel University with a Master’s Degree in Construction Management, specializing in Green Construction and Sustainability.
Kimela is a member of the following professional organizations: the National Association of Women in Construction and the Association of General Contractors. A frequent guest speaker and panelist on women in business and veterans issues, Kimela combines her advocacy skills and military and business experience to provide keen insight and inspirational perspectives on small business issues and topics.
